Sapir Brand

Sapir Brand is a Sophomore intending to major in Molecular and Cell Biology on a Pre-Medical track. She is passionate about Jewish community and working with kids, which she has pursued as a Schultz Fellow at Hillel and as a volunteer mentor at a local elementary school with the Sage Mentorship Project. Sapir hopes to continue to learn more about Israel and explore diverse perspectives through this fellowship group. In her free time, she enjoys training in martial arts, reading, and running.

Sophie Bulkin

Sophie Bulkin is a third-year student majoring in Rhetoric and minoring in Public Policy. Sophie is active in the Jewish community as a fellow for the LawFare Project, member of the Chabad student board, and campaign manager for Shaya Keyvenfar’s office, where she has worked to make UC Berkeley a safe space for all students. She has recently worked for the Lawfare Project, the San Diego public defender's office, and on her own non-profit (Together as One) with the hopes of creating a more unified and equitable environment. Ariella Cohn

Ariella moved from Cape Town, South Africa to the U.S. for college, where she is pursuing a double major in Data Science and Cognitive Science. She is passionate about the intersection of healthcare and technology, exploring how data-driven solutions can improve people’s lives. Ariella also has a deep love for outreach, especially working with children, and has volunteered at community food banks and orphanages in Cape Town. Ben Davis

Ben Davis is a senior studying Business Administration through the Global Management Program. Ben studied in Israel as a 2023-2024 Boren Scholar, focusing on Hebrew and dual-use technology. His career and research interests include the convergence of international markets and security, tech, and business innovation. Declan Farriday

Declan Farriday is a 4th-year majoring in neurobiology and environmental biology. Apart from studying, he works on his honors thesis at the research lab investigating sleep patterns in mice. Declan plans to enter the field of biotechnology, hoping to create novel therapies for disease. He spends his free time rock climbing, playing tennis, and listening to all types of jazz music.

Elijah Feldman

Elijah Feldman is pursuing a B.A in Psychology and a minor in Jewish Studies. At Berkeley, he is the VP of Programming at Chabad, the Co-leader of the Jewish Unity Dept. in ASUC Senator Shaya Keyvanfar’s office, and an E-board member of SSI and Tikvah. He is very passionate about Israel and Jewish life in general. He loves music and traveling, and he specifically really enjoys spending as much time as he can in Israel, and hopes to one day soon make Aliyah.

James Hirschowitz

James is pursuing his Bachelors of Arts in Economics and a minor in Jewish Studies. At Berkeley, James is President of the Berkeley Jewish Student Union, Vice President of Outreach at Chabad, and Vice President of Fund at Tamid Consulting as well as on the board of Tikvah. Upon graduation, James plans to pursue a career in finance and combine his passion for Africa and sustainability to facilitate sustainable development on the continent. As a proud South African, James loves to get out into nature whether that’s in safari or multi day backpacking trips.

Elye Kehat

Elye Kehat is a third-year student majoring in Economics and Data Science. His academic interests include the intersection of religion and economics, along with economic history, monetary theory, and econometrics. He’s developed and taught two undergraduate courses at Berkeley (“DeCals”) on money, debt, and religion. Shaya is a sophomore intending to major in Global Studies and Political Economics as well as minoring in Jewish Studies at UC Berkeley. She is passionate about social justice, specifically human rights and mental health work, as well as yoga, art, and music. Nicole Klein

Nicole Klein is a senior studying Molecular and Cell Biology and Business. She is actively involved in research at UCSF, focusing on important questions related to health equity and accessibility. Nicole is also passionate about strengthening her connection to Israel and engaging in leadership and advocacy work. Outside of her academics, she enjoys singing with the Cal Chorale and spending her free time running, reading, and hiking.
