Bio/CV: 

Leah Wagner-Edelstein, Deputy Director of the Helen Diller Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies comes from a rich background of resource development, external relations and philanthropic service both within and outside of the Jewish and Israeli Community. 

Prior to joining HDI, Leah was the Development Officer of Major Gifts for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation, where she was responsible for the Major Gift Program as well as the retention and augmentation of the Annual Fund donor base. Prior to her work at the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation, Leah attended The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she received a Master’s degree in nonprofit Management from the Rothberg International School in conjunction with The Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Social Welfare. 

During her time in Jerusalem, Leah worked to broaden the Foundation giving program of ‘Yedid; The Association for Community Empowerment’. Leah was also the co-founder of an outreach program working to serve ‘The Jerusalem Open House for Pride and Tolerance’- a leading organization of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people in Jerusalem. 

Leah also served as the Development Executive for The American Friends of Hebrew University, as the Associate Director of Leadership Management for Project Interchange- an Institute of The American Jewish Committee, and as the Development Associate for The Jewish Community Foundation of the Greater East Bay. 

She lives in Oakland with her husband, Jason and their two children.
