Literary Series

The Helen Diller Institute’s Fall 2025 Israeli literary series includes a series of talks with Israeli scholars and literary authors exploring complex issues around war and prolonged conflict, including trauma, confinement, boredom, silence, and the crisis of meaning. All three sessions will be hosted by Yael Segalovitz, Helen Diller Institute Visiting Professor of Comparative Literature at UC Berkeley.

Israeli Cinema Series: Stranger on the Screen

The Helen Diller Institute’s Fall 2025 Israeli cinema series examines migration and its relationship to identity, belonging, and outsider status, as portrayed through Israeli cinema. This series is hosted by Israeli filmmaker and film professor, Aner Preminger, the Koret Visiting Professor in Israel Studies at the Helen Diller Institute.
