Noah Hysler Rubin is a 2024–2025 Helen Diller Institute Visiting Professor in the Geography Department at UC Berkeley. A cultural geographer and town planner, she holds a degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her research examines the spatial dynamics of political, social, and cultural interactions in urban planning.

She is the author of Patrick Geddes and Town Planning: A Critical View (Routledge, 2011) and The Urban Planning of Jerusalem, 1948–1968: Between City and State in Planning Discourse (Jerusalem Books Series, Yad Ben-Zvi Research Institute, 2023). Her forthcoming article, The New-New Jerusalem as Gateway to the East: British Visions for the Hebrew University, will appear in Studies in Contemporary Jewry. At Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, Dr. Hysler Rubin teaches planning history and theory.

Her research interests include urban planning in Israel/Palestine, divided Jerusalem, post-colonial planning critique, and critical heritage studies. Her work highlights the evolving urban landscape and advances the scholarly understanding and preservation of urban environments.
